HOLY WEEK
+ EASTER

in the east end

Holy Week slows us down and draws us into the story at the center of our faith.

We walk with Jesus into Jerusalem. We gather at the table. We keep watch at the cross. We welcome the first light of resurrection.

The church walks this journey together every year, trusting that God meets us here. Come join us for Holy Week at Holy Family Episcopal Church.

PALM SUNDAY

Sunday, March 29 | 9 AM & 11 AM

The journey begins as we wave palms and walk the road to the cross. The nursery will be open for ages 1-3.

HOLY WEEK

This is the Paschal Triduum—the heart of the Christian year.
It’s not three separate services. It’s one unfolding liturgy, stretched across three nights. We begin on Thursday and end on Saturday. To help us understand this as one liturgy, there is one worship booklet and there is no benediction (sending with a blessing) until the very end of the Easter Vigil. The nursery will be open for ages 1-3 for all three nights.

Maundy Thursday, April 17 | 7 PM

Jesus kneels to wash his disciples’ feet. He shares a meal and calls it his body. The altar is stripped. The light begins to fade.

Good Friday, April 18 | 7 PM

The story moves deeper into darkness. We follow Jesus to the cross. The light around us dims, little by little, until we are left in silence.`

Easter Vigil, April 19 | 8 PM

Easter begins at night. We start outside by fire, waiting in the dark. Then, the light begins to rise. We hear the story of salvation. We celebrate baptisms. We proclaim resurrection.

EASTER SUNDAY

Sunday, April 5 | 9 AM & 11 AM

Christ is risen! We gather to celebrate, to feast, and to sing. Bring your friends and loved ones to join the celebration. The nursery will be open for ages 1-3.
