Interested in having your confession heard?
When are confessions heard?
Sundays from 10:00 am – 10:15 am.
Any time and any where that you schedule with @fatherbreeze.
What is Confession?
Properly called “The Reconciliation of a Penitent"…it is a Sacrament of Healing.
This is the rite in which those who repent of their sins may confess them to God in the presence of a priest, and receive the assurance of pardon and the grace of absolution.
But what do we do once I show up to make confession?
We will pray a short prayer from the Book of Common Prayer and you will be invited to confess all serious sins troubling your conscience. After praying words of contrition, the priest will give brief counsel and encouragement as needed and will pronounce the absolution. Before giving absolution, the priest may assign to the penitent a psalm, prayer, or hymn to be said, or something to be done, as a sign of penitence and act of thanksgiving. It will probably go a lot quicker than you’re imagining.
What about Confidentiality?
The content of a confession is not normally a matter of subsequent discussion between you and the priest. The secrecy of a confession is morally absolute for the priest and must under no circumstances be broken.
